Hi there, Vosper Cousins! Hope you are all doing GREAT!
Cousin Paula had a DNA match that led us to a new cousin:
I corresponded with rolyn173 and we confirmed that she, Robyn, is a descendant of Robert Vosper and Mary Bawden. Robyn lives in Queensland, Australia. I have updated our cousin chart, attached. You can see her particular line highlighted, below:
So, she is the third descendant of Lydia’s on our chart. It was the first Samuel Friend Williams who emigrated to Australia.
All of the people with asterisks by their names have DNA tested. It’s a never ending wonder to me how some cousins across the world inherit the same portion of a chromosome, while others don’t! That’s why it’s important to test.
Robyn, there is so much to ‘catch you up’ on that I have created a blog with our past correspondence. You can find it at http://vospercousins.blogspot.com/ . In the upper left hand corner there is a little search bar where you can look up specific topics. Any pictures can be clicked upon to bring them up in a bigger size. Some of the items you might find of interest are:
http://vospercousins.blogspot.com/search?q=gifford - our relationship to the Gifford line
http://vospercousins.blogspot.com/search?q=conquerer - our relationship to William the Conquerer
http://vospercousins.blogspot.com/search?q=jewish – it may surprise you to find out that we believe the Vosper line was Jewish in origin. I have created a “fake person” on Ancestry to collect items about this research at https://www.ancestry.com/family-tree/person/tree/47009625/person/24454081783/facts
Have a wonderful day!
Cousin Teri
Hi Teri - I'm Glenda from Boston. I split from the Vosper line when Mary Vosper d/o Jospeh & Mary (Prest) Vosper married William Barriball in North Petherwin on 18 April 1705.
ReplyDeleteReading through the posts, I found the "Vosper extension" https://www.ancestry.com/mediaui-viewer/tree/47009625/person/24454081783/media/6cc992fa-86bf-4d0d-94c0-282b7871396e. Do you know who did this work and based on what resource? Thanks.
