Re: John Bawden (1741 - 1783) Elizabeth (Bawden) Baskerville (1740-1779)

Hi Teri and the rest of the Vospers.

I have been reading all your research with a fine toothcomb T and haven't you been doing well (apart from the lack of coffee!) - but I have to pick up on something.

The entry in 1765 Marriages:  John Bawden married Jenny VEAL - the entry above shows the marriage of John BASKERVILLE  to Elizabeth MARSHALL.

John BASKERVILLE died 1769 Cornwood.   Whereupon Elizabeth BASKERVILLE nee Marshall married John BAWDON 3 April 1772 in Cornwood.

Elizabeth BASKERVILLE nee Marshall was born 27 Feb 1745 Cornwood to William MARSHALL and Elizabeth WOODWARD (bap 14 Oct 1719 Cornwood).  William MARSHALL and Elizabeth WOODWARD married 20 October 1736 Cornwood.

We have the entries for all these events.  So I think - the one thing we have to find is the death of Jenny VEAL which would put a seal on it all.

Good hunting Teri
Kind regards
Cuz Monica

John Bawden:

Baptism – index shows record 19 Apr 1741.  Of course, the parish record film is missing that page.  https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:3Q9M-CSHW-4W7N-9?i=126&cat=335503
