As Trewoofe  wasn't owned by Vosper descendants, I very much doubt it is a portrait of one.  Barbara Powell owned the house when they retired & set about the project of doing the research of the house and their owners.
I would hesitate to contact the likes of the car dealers in Plymouth as you will probably find that they have no interest in family history!  We did much the same with a distant cousin in Truro and got short shrift!
I suspect if you do view the series of Poldark you'll need to use the subtitles!  I watched Ep 2  of series 2 last night - not much of the coutryside, but they always have wistful long shots of Poldark and his wife on the cliff tops!!  Here are some old films that were filmed there including Bond's 'Die another Day'
